The band

Every once in a while, individual talents come together to form a group that’s more than the sum of its parts:  CSNY, Blind Faith, Fleetwood Mac… list goes on.

In 2025, vocalist Heidi Farmer, drummer Justin Peters, guitarist Rob Rappa, and bassist Adam Olenn all performed at Porchfest in Providence, Rhode Island.

That’s when the porch light turned on and someone said, β€œHey, what if we all played together as an actual band?”

They discovered a close alignment of taste, craftsmanship, and shared commitment that making music is for bringing people together.  Add instrumental dexterity, a deep love of harmony singing, and you’re in for a good time.

  • Vocals, guitar

Heidi started out on her grandma’s upright piano, blended her way through a series of a capella groups, and headed to California with an achin’ in her heart.  After playing, writing, and recording alongside talented Bay Area artists like Train and Box Set, and shared the stage with luminaries like The Distractions, Boz Scaggs, John Lee Hooker, Spin Doctors, and members of Big Head Todd.

Heidi performed in hallowed rock halls like  Great American Music Hall, Sweetwater, Slim’s, and Bimbo’s Nightclub with her band YellowWood Junction.

Eventually the ache returned, but for Narragansett Bay rather than San Francisco, and Heidi headed home to bring her talents back to the Ocean State.

For Justin, music was never a choiceβ€”it was an environment and a home. Raised in a household of musicians and a community that treated its music educators like the heroes they were, he spent his formative years creating music with the people he loved and admired.

As a founding member of the late-90s Rhode Island band Groove Relativity, Justin established himself as a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist early on. This set the stage for a joyful 25-year career in music and arts education. His journey includes a degree in Music Composition from Wittenberg University, where he co-founded The WittMen Crew a cappella group and toured with the renowned Wittenberg Choir. During his tenure with the Providence Singers, he performed alongside icons such as Dave Brubeck, the Boston Pops, the Rhode Island Philharmonic, and the Kronos Quartet.

Now, after 25 years of teaching and directing at Lincoln and Moses Brown Schoolβ€”serving as Head of Performing Arts and directing over 40 musical theater productionsβ€”the role he’s played in the formation of The Lost & Found represents a return to Justin’s collaborative roots and his passion for pairing killer vocal harmonies with deliciously nasty grooves.

  • Guitar, vocals

Rob still hasn’t written a bio.

  • Bass, vocals, guitar, harmonica

When Adam was a boy, car trips = Paul Simon cassettes.  Not a bad place to start, and he grew up with a deep love of well-written songs, interesting instrumentals, and a taste for unbounded musical diversity.

After bashing away on an acoustic guitar for years, he took up flute, then sax, and earned degrees in composition from the University of Virginia and the Boston Conservatory.

One day two friendsβ€”a guitarist and drummerβ€”announced they were starting a punk band and Adam asked if he could join them on bass.
β€œWe didn’t know you played bass.”
    β€œI don’t.  It’s punk rockβ€”how hard can it be?”

That band lasted one gig, but the bass bug bit for life.  He went on to tour the Eastern US with the Tim Blane Band, Rebecca Loebe, Laura Vecchione, and many more.  He has shared the stage with The Dropkick Murphys, Fabolous, the 2008 Red Soxβ€”with the Standells, and more. Adam is delighted to hold down the bottom and sing with this choir of angels every chance he gets.
